Hi, yes, we’re three episodes in and I still can’t go over how amazing Black Lightning is. In two episodes, it has consistently portrayed its characters as complex individuals grappling with real-world and relatable issues while also organically digging into what it means to be a superhero and to save the day.

Like the premiere, last week’s episode ended with a hint at who Anissa is going to become. This week, Black Lightning will really shift the focus onto that as it prepares to introduce another Pierce family hero, Thunder.

"As Jefferson Pierce tries to determine if the community can survive without the help of Black Lightning, Anissa starts to come into her own. Meanwhile, Jefferson and Lynn try and figure out their new dynamic. Finally, Jennifer reveals to her parents that she has been grappling with something big."

I thought last week we determined the community kind of can’t survive without Black Lightning? Hence the impact that LaWanda’s death had on Jefferson. And more importantly, Jefferson and Lynn.
