Victoria season 2 episode 2 live stream: Watch online
Victoria and Albert cope with loss and becomes parents for the second time in this week’s double-header of Victoria.
Victoria airs the next two episodes of season 2 tonight and, if the synopsis is any indication, “Warp and Weft” and “The Sins of the Father” will continue to explore the more solemn aspects of the queen’s history.
Here’s the summary, courtesy of PBS:
"Discontent is growing in the country, and Victoria throws a costume ball in a misguided attempt to help the silk weavers of Spitalfields — but the spectacular event only exposes her naiveté, and an unexpected grief finally forces her to put childish things away for good."
Jealousy, loss, complicated feelings about motherhood, recognizing one’s privilege: it looks like our little Victoria and Albert really are growing up.
Hopefully the sure-to-be-a-disaster costume party is the shock to the system Victoria needs to finally understand why her husband wants to modernize things in Britain. Between last week’s helmet designs and the season 1 episode dedicated to trains, Victoria has hinted at Albert’s reform ideas but hasn’t really explored them in full yet. Perhaps “Warp and Weft” and/or “The Sins of the Father” will mark a turning point.
Because, honestly, I can’t take much more of Penge being the worst. (What is his role besides berating Lehzen and taking naps in the pantry?) Someone needs to straighten out Buckingham Palace’s infrastructure and fast.
