Tonight, The CW unveils its brand new superhero series, Black Lightning. Here are all the details you need to watch the series premiere online or on TV.

The CW is the home of plenty of DC superhero shows, but there’s a sameness that many Arrowverse fans are familiar with. Luckily, Black Lightning isn’t part of the Arrowverse at this time. Of course, that’s not to say that they won’t find a way to include him in some crossover at some point, but for the most part, this show stands on its own. Which gives it a lot of room to try new and exciting stuff.

So let’s check out the synopsis for the Black Lightning series premiere, courtesy of TV Guide:

"A retired superhero is drawn back into his old lifestyle when his daughter seeks to serve justice to evil-doers in the series premiere."

Let it be known that we’re very excited for Black Lightning. In addition to looking like a very exciting and refreshing new superhero series, we’ll also be getting an LGBTQ superhero and compelling family drama that really understands the stakes of life in the real world nowadays. When The CW first spoke this show into existence, it stayed off people’s radars. But now that we’ve seen how it’s come together, it might just jump to the top of my favorite’s list.
