The fallout from last week’s breakups makes for a lot of tension in the midseason finale, “Chapter 22: Silent Night, Deadly Night,” and we’re not just talking the run-of-the-mill holiday weirdness. Our main foursome may be all in disarray, but that doesn’t mean Riverdale is short on the drama. Archie and Betty are throwing themselves into this whole Reaper/Black Hood mystery to avoid their exes, but we won’t forget that moment at the end of last week’s episode.
With the bodies of their respective relationships barely even cold, they’re making bedroom eyes at each other, and making clandestine vows to each other outside haunted houses, and I’m not okay with any of it. I’ll forgive Riverdale for a lot of things, but not for this senseless atrocity against Bughead. (Although I’m less invested in this Veronica/Archie thing.)

Furthermore, Riverdale is really amping up the ways they plan on keeping me up at night, since it’s positioned the Black Hood against the holiday backdrop. This image of the Black Hood in a Santa getup might be the most disturbing thing I’ve seen all week. *shudders*
Also, more of the sexiness that is Alice and FP. I will soften to the idea of a Bughead split, if they can console me with this couple.
