The Mr. Robot season 3 finale is here and we’re definitely not ready for whatever’s coming. Here’s all the info you need to watch “shutdown –r” online.
After months full of shocking twists, game changing moments and long-awaited answers that only lead to more questions, it’s finally time. The Mr. Robot season 3 finale is here. And after everything we’ve seen so far, it seems safe there’s no way we’re ready.
After a second season that divided both critics and fans, Mr. Robot came roaring back with some of its absolute best storytelling yet this year. Season 3 has been so good, y’all. It had a little bit of everything — shocking twists (Joanna’s death, the “real” Stage 2 plan), brutal relationship moments (Angela working with Mr. Robot, Darlene betraying her brother to the FBI), and long awaited character development (Tyrell is finally back! Mr. Robot and Elliot are kind of — maybe? — on the same side again!)
That we’re already at the finale is kind of upsetting, actually, if only for the fact that I’m just not ready to give this show up for an entire year. It’s been too much fun to watch.
Given how nuts the season has been until this point, it’s also pretty difficult to predict what might happen during the finale. There are several important dangling plot points, but it’s not clear whether the show will manage to address them all in an hour.
The finale synopsis seems to indicate that it’s sure going to try, though:
"elliot tries to save darlene but sh*t doesn’t go as planned. mr. robot needs to step up or step back ffs. angela considers the price."
Darlene is currently being held by the FBI. The Dark Army knows she’s pushing a plan to try and undo the 5/9 hack. Will anyone — most especially and specifically Dom — manage to figure out that Santiago is the double agent within the bureau? Elliot, Tyrell and Mr. Robot know the FBI is compromised. Will they be able to prove it to anyone else? And Angela, whose mental state has steadily deteriorated since the Stage 2 explosions, seems to have wandered into a van full of strangers who may or may not be Dark Army agents. Is she in danger? Or will we finally find out the secret — and whether or not it’s time travel — that Whiterose told her so long ago?
Buckle up, folks.
