Via TVLine, the sneak peek wastes no time in revealing that Lady Tremaine is actually an older and embittered Rapunzel — yes, she’s two fairy tale characters in one body — who attempts to strike a deal with Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) in exchange for her freedom from jail. Upon striking the deal, however, Rumplestiltskin reveals he knows who she really is! This ought to be entertaining, at the very least!
Per the promo, I already had an inkling who Lady Tremaine really was. The dead giveaway? Rapunzel was holding a presumably dead Anastasia in her arms! I’m curious to see how they pull off combining the story of Cinderella with the story of Tangled.
Elsewhere in the episode, we’ll be revisiting the so-called “love triangle” between Jacinda, Henry, and Nick. It looks as if Jacinda and Nick will be sharing “an exchange that could alter her future with Henry” … whatever that means. I guess we’ll find out. I’m just really looking forward to the flashback scenes where Lady Tremaine — or should we call her Rapunzel now? — is encountered by Mother Gothel!

"Victoria strikes a deal with Weaver in an attempt to free herself from jail and wake Anastasia, but the cost of saving one life could mean the loss of another. In a flashback, we learn Lady Tremaine’s surprising connection to another classic fairytale when Mother Gothel offers to help her family. Meanwhile, Jacinda and Nick share an exchange that could alter her future with Henry."
