We’ve waited with bated breath for almost seven months and now it’s here, the return of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.
This time, it’s in space!
Here’s the official synopsis, in case you missed it:
"Coulson and the team find themselves stranded on a mysterious ship in outer space, and that’s just the beginning of the nightmare to come."
We really don’t know what’s going to happen this season. But the fact that they’re in space (and not on Asteroid M like my brain immediately hoped, since, you know, they don’t have access to Magneto or mutants…) is such a tonal shift.
The possibilities are endless. Skrulls? Secret Wars? Agents of SWORD?! Did any of us really expect Agents of SHIELD to take us to space?
This is almost as exciting as last season’s temporary return of the Grant Ward we should have had from the beginning. And I’m still thankful they didn’t give him a redemption arc (at least in the traditional sense).
How long do we think it will be before FitzSimmons gets thrown to the wolves again? Or Coulson give another grandiose speech? Who will be the MVP of this season? My money’s on the fantastic team-up of Mack and Elena and not just because he now has a shotgun axe as his go-to weapon of choice.
