9. Rise Up Hat

The holidays are a time to rise up, and find the best gifts to leave someone satisfied. (The show may be almost three years old, but the puns it offers will never die). For the Hamilton superfans, this one is easy.

There’s plenty of Hamilton merchandise to choose from, but one of the newest pieces is a flat-billed hat that reads “Rise Up, Wise Up, Eyes Up.” The lyrics from “The World Was Wide Enough” have become inspiring in countless ways and, thanks to Samy Simorangkir, make for a subtle but intense design.

If the hat seems familiar it’s because Hamilton himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, wore it fairly often. In fact, he wore it while recording parts of his mega-collaboration “Almost Like Praying.”

In the end, he ended up giving the hat as a gift/trade to Rubén Blades while recording his portion of the hurricane relief tribute.

The hat even offers a version with the phrase in pink, for those who prefer it. It’s an easy, impactful gift for both men and women. Technically, it’s not officially licensed by Hamilton, but rather by Miranda.

Not only is it a perfect gift for Hamilton lovers, but the money spent on it – just 22 dollars! – goes to good causes. As explained on the TeeRico website:

"“A portion of all sales goes back to worthy causes such as our artists, charity events, and programs in coordination with Broadway Cares and #somosorlando.”"

With the show headed out on national tour next year, and to Puerto Rico, the timing couldn’t be better.
