Is Empire new this Wednesday Nov. 1 on FOX?

Empire is on hold for one more week as the World Series rounds out to a close but don’t worry, I came prepared with spoilers and baseball trivia!

Unfortunately, game 7 of the World Series is holding our favorite musical dysfunctional family hostage once again. As the Astros and Dodgers continue to battle for the title of world champ, Empire will remain on hold. That’s the bad news.

The good news is Empire’s back next week. The even better news is there are new clips to talk about. I’ll save my predictions and analysis for next week’s streaming guide.

Hey, I’m entitled to a cliffhanger every now and then, too right?

A sneak peek of the episode that includes Claudia’s poison, suspicious investors and Cookie and Lucious dancing.

Cookie and Porsha give reporters a tour of Empire headquarters and we learn that not only is Cookie verbally abusive, she’s also physically abusive — poor Porsha.

I won’t spoil any more clips (even though there’s plenty, thanks FOX). After all, I need something to write about next week. But, as promised last week, let’s play a speed round of Dodgers and Astros trivia.

According to For the Win:

  • Magic Johnson is a partial (although not controlling) owner of the Dodgers. Complete with his own office and bobblehead.
  • They may not be called the Astros, but one of the Dodgers stems from astronomical royalty. Dodger’s pitcher Clayton Kershaw’s great-uncle Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930. Don’t worry Clayton, Pluto will always be a planet to me.
  • Larry King is apparently a die-hard Dodgers fan.
  • Before becoming the Astros, the team was known as the Houston Colt .45s  according to Visit Houston Texas.
  • The Astros celebrated their 50th birthday in 2012, but that year their roster was full of spring chickens as it was among the youngest in the NL according to the Astros’ official website.
  • The Astros called Houston’s famed Astrodome home for 34 years from 1965 to 1999. They now play home games in Minute Maid Park, as they have since 2000.
  • The Astros and the Dodgers mark the first pair of teams to both win more than 100 games since the Baltimore Orioles (108) and the Cincinnati Reds (102) in the 1970 season according to the Astros’ website.

Stay tuned for next week’s streaming guide and recap and if you’re watching the game tonight, eat a box of peanuts and Cracker Jacks for me!
