Hey, Claire? No one likes a martyr, okay? In this week’s episode of Outlander, the intriguingly titled “Creme De Menthe,” you apparently blame yourself for causing Jamie “so much trouble” (aka defending yourself against last week’s attacker). I don’t know why you’re doing the damsel in distress/self-effacing schtick, but it’s not you. You are not the type of woman who apologizes for taking up space. I know your head is still in the clouds from the big reunion, but get it together.

Besides, Jamie is definitely going to need the old, strong-willed Claire back. His illegal moonlighting gigs are becoming more tenuous by the second. Fergus and Young Ian are up to something that probably seems heroic but is in actuality very stupid. Fergus seems to be giving new life to the Dame Blanche rumors about you, which is quite dangerous considering the 18th century’s attitude toward witches. And, let’s be real, at least part of the attraction between you and Jamie stems from the fact that you both are constantly caught in the middle of some dangerous plot.

So stop with the hand-wringing, Claire, and get your head back in the game.
