Mr. Robot season 3 continues this week, with an episode that look as though it will finally answer one of fans’ most frequently asked questions. What happened to Tyrell Wellick?

We haven’t seen much of the former E-Corp interim CTO since the end of season 1. Under police investigation for the murder of Sharon Knowles (a crime of which he was actually guilty), Wellick lost his job and spiraled into something that looked a lot like madness. We know he was apparently instrumental in helping fsociety pull off the 5/9 hack, but since Elliot still doesn’t remember what happened that night, we don’t actually know what he did. Nor do we know what he’s been doing since then, or even where he’s been.

Now it looks like we’re finally going to find out. In fact, if the official synopsis for this week is anything to go by, we may not see much of Elliot or the other main cast members at all. It’s focused exclusively on Tyrell.

The episode trailer is similarly Tyrell-focused (with what appears to be a significant bonus appearance from Bobby Canavale’s mysterious new character Irving).

Really not sure how to feel about that survivalist beard Tyrell’s sporting in this trailer, to be honest.
