Supergirl season 3 episode 3 live stream: Watch online

Maggie and J’onn return to Nebraska and Mars, respectively, on Supergirl this week. We have all the information you need on “Far from the Tree”.
So far, season 3 of Supergirl has focused mostly on Kara. In the premiere, the Girl of Steel let herself feel again, refusing to be consumed by bitterness over Mon-El’s departure. Last week, Psi forced her to confront the guilt she had long been suppressing. Other characters got storylines, such as the burgeoning rivalry between James and Lena, but they were clearly secondary.
With the third episode, it looks like that will change. The plot synopsis for “Far From the Tree” hints that Kara will take a backseat while Maggie and J’onn sort out their personal issues. Read it below, courtesy of Supergirl Radio:
"CARLOS BERNARD (“24”) GUEST STARS; HELEN SLATER RETURNS — Eliza (guest star Helen Slater) throws Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) a wedding shower, which causes Maggie to reach out to her estranged father (guest star Carlos Bernard). Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) joins J’onn (David Harewood) on a personal mission."
As season 3 progressed, it became clear that Maggie’s confidence in her sexuality was partly, if not largely, a front. In truth, her coming-out had been painful, as her father ousted her from their home. We’re excited to finally meet the man and get a better sense of the past that Maggie is so intent on hiding. Maybe this means Alex and Maggie get the A-plot? (Hey, a girl can hope.)
It’s unlikely, though, since the episode’s other plot involves J’onn and Kara going to Mars. At the end of “Triggers”, M’gann appeared to J’onn via mind-meld and pleaded for his help with… something. Evidently, her mission to rebuild their home planet isn’t smooth sailing. It should be interesting to see how Supergirl balances J’onn’s intergalactic odyssey with Maggie’s intimate one.
