The Good Doctor season 1 episode 3 live stream: Watch online
It’s another week and another patient on The Good Doctor’s inaugural season. How will Dr. Shaun Murphy help, and what will he learn in “Oliver”?
We’re about to be three episodes in to the first season of The Good Doctor, and the pattern is pretty much set. In fact, the information out there for this week’s episode, titled “Oliver,” makes it obvious that there won’t be any surprises, at least not obvious ones, when it comes to the layout and format of the episode.
Here’s ABC’s synopsis:
"Dr. Neil Melendez and Dr. Jared Unger discover their patient isn’t being completely honest with them which may cost him his chance at a life-saving surgery. Meanwhile, Dr. Claire Browne must learn to communicate with Dr. Shaun Murphy as they race back to St. Bonaventure Hospital with a donated organ."
The episode preview goes further than the synopsis and makes it seem like Shaun will once again have to get to work under less than optimal conditions.
It’s a bit early to be repeating something that helped introduce us to Shaun’s character (and admittedly, it’s not another kid, but rather an organ), but it’s also quickly becoming a trademark to help reinforce his skills. At the same time, though, this is a step up for Shaun; getting to work on organ transport is a pretty vital job (and we’re sure we’re going to hear about its importance during the episode).
We don’t expect him to end the season in some oddly improbable position — he is still a newcomer after all, albeit one with a friend in a very high place — but it’s good that the show isn’t holding him back too much. Additionally, Dr. Glassman is willing to go to bat for Shaun, but is also willing to keep teaching him lessons and helping him navigate his new situation even when that means simply saying that Shaun has to try and do things a little differently.
The synopsis also reinforces the idea of information coming up at inopportune moments, another early hallmark of this series. However, this is a drama, so that’s really not a surprise. That’s especially so when the primary source of tension comes from whether or not the cast can save whoever comes into the hospital during that episode.
And yet, here we all are, strangely fascinated by The Good Doctor and looking to watch episode 3 online.
