New Game of Thrones Season 7 photo: Daenerys headed for Dragonstone

Time Magazine just released a new still from Game of Thrones season 7 showing Daenerys, Tyrion, Missandei, Varys, and their armies bound for Dragonstone.

The new Game of Thrones season 7 photo was released by Time Magazine,  and it shows Dany’s team of bad mama-jamas rowing across the Narrow Sea to finally take Westeros. Six seasons in, and we’ll finally get to see some serious conquering.

With the forces of the Dothraki, the Unsullied, and the Greyjoy and Tyrell armies behind her, it’s no doubt the Lannister armies are shaking in their boots. Also, Daenerys has dragons. Oh dang, right?

SPOILERS!  SPOILERS!  BEWARE THE SPOILERS!

The boat is headed for Dragonstone, the Targaryen ancestral home, before Daenerys goes on to presumably wage war and bring death from the skies onto Westeros. Again, oh dang. Our friends at Show Snob broke down the photo a little.

"We…have an unnamed Unsullied manning the oar, as the boat is clearly being pulled by chain into the Dragonstone, but don’t bet distracted, it’s not Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) [sic]."

What this means for Daenerys’s party remains to be seen. Still, the Targaryen heiress is poised to be a powerful foe to the Lannisters. Considering their own drama, the Lannisters might be shooting themselves in the foot before the war for the iron throne even breaks out. If the Lannisters can’t get their act together, there’s no way they can stand against Daenerys’s forces.

Given the big reveal of Jon Snow’s real name, Jaehaerys Targaryen, it’s not unreasonable to assume that Jon might back the Targaryens. After all, Daenerys appears to be Jon’s aunt. They say blood is thicker than water.  We’ll have to see how it goes. A prominent fan theory posits that Jon and Daenerys might wind up together. It would follow with the incestuous nature of the royals of Westeros. Or any royals anywhere for that matter.

In the end, we’ll just have to wait and see. Game of Thrones season 7 premieres on HBO on July 16.  Be sure to mark your calendar (as if you haven’t already).
