Andy Griffith might just be the most appropriate dad on this list. He’s honest, well-intentioned, emotionally available, and level-headed. This means I probably wouldn’t really like him all that much, but I can still appreciate an incredible jawline and beautiful head of hair when I see one.

Andy was the the bachelor Sheriff of Mayberry and it seems like he’d have more women banging on his door to bring him casseroles and offering to baby sit his son. That being said, Andy is strictly a one-woman man, only dating two women during the show’s entire run.

When Andy was involved with a woman, he was always a good Southern gentleman (the best kind of gentleman, if you ask me). He opened doors for his ladies, paid for their dinners, and never, ever pressured them for funny business.
