Elhoffer Design strikes back with the Galactic Commander dress from E3

Elhoffer Design just burst onto the scene in a big way with its Galactic Commander dress that featured at E3, but fans of earlier work aren’t surprised.

Here at Culturess, we see a lot of Star Wars fashion and write about a lot of Star Wars fashion. One of yours truly’s favorite collections ever is Elhoffer Design’s Galactic Royalty, which ably translated looks from the Star Wars films to wearable pieces.

As a result, when Polygon noted that a dress from EA’s press conference at E3 had gotten more attention than even the fact that Star Wars Battlefront II was coming, and then noted it came from Elhoffer Design, we weren’t surprised.

The dress in question now has the name of “Galactic Commander,” and you can pre-order it.

Here’s the original version:

Currently, the product listing notes that the red shoulder stripes and the belt do not come with the dress. However, a second post to Instagram from Elhoffer Design reveals that that may change.

(Okay, “the twirl” also has us mesmerized. That dress looks gorgeous in motion.) Anyway, as the Instagram caption reads, Elhoffer has some ideas for additional shoulder detailing. Vader-style silver definitely has us interested. We could also see something orange or blue working for the white version of the dress, however, for a stormtrooper commander-style look.

Additionally, Elhoffer appears to also be taking pre-orders for belts as well. We have to say that a custom-style belt made Vader-style to go with the silver striping she hinted at above? Even Kylo Ren would be jealous at such an emulation of Vader.

Also, can we just say that it’s nice to have a size chart readily available without having to dig for it? Elhoffer Design has always seemed quite good about explaining its sizing anyway, but it’s a nice touch.

It just comes down to having the credits to spare.
