It’s time to be their guests on Food Network Star, Season 13, episode 2. The finalist throw a celebration for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

The hugely successful Disney’s live action movie Beauty and the Beast was recently released on Blu-Ray and DVD. In this week’s episode of Food Network Star, the finalists must create a celebration based on an iconic room in Beauty and the Beast. Another finalist will be shown the door by the end of the episode.

The Food Network provided the following synopsis.

"The finalists host a party celebrating Disney’s live-action feature Beauty and the Beast. The finalists are divided into three teams, with each team drawing inspiration from one of the iconic rooms of the castle to decorate a serving station and cook up a dish before presenting to a ballroom full of party guests. Special guest Sandra Lee attends the event with Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay to help pick a winning team, then two finalists from the losing team are sent home."

Looking at the synopsis, the biggest hurdle to overcome will be the teams. Team challenges, in any reality television cooking show, create drama. People don’t get along, people don’t have the same cooking style and someone always doesn’t pull their weight. While I haven’t seen this episode, I have watched enough of these shows to know the pattern.

For Sunday’s night episode, I’m wondering how teams will be formed. Personally, I am hoping that the selection is random. The personality combinations could be hilarious. For example, putting Matthew together with Jason would be a total clash of personalities. Another great combination would be Cao with Addie, the modern millennial with the straight-laced Martha Stewart protégé.

Regardless of personality conflicts, the finalists have to create a memorable event. While we don’t know the specific rooms, I would be willing to bet the ballroom is one. Hopefully, finalists think outside of the box when creating their experience. Gold food with a red accent for the red rose would be boring. Also, a play on just beauty (a pretty plate) and beast (some type of game meat) would be expected, too.

What will the finalists whip up? You will have to tune into see.
