All of these chef-testants have been through the demands of the Food Network Star competition. Their chance at a comeback is on the line. With a strong on camera presence and a clear point of view, any of these chef-testants can join the newest season of Food Network Star. Who will achieve redemption in Food Network Star Comeback Kitchen?
This week’s synopsis on Food Network says:
"The final five competitors hack a classic salad bar, harvesting ingredients to create a dish while telling the entire tale in an Instagram Story. One alumnus is sent home based on the results. Then, for the final challenge, the remaining four competitors battle it out for the coveted spot as the 13th finalist on the new season of Food Network Star by creating their own dinner party and a video invitation to attract potential dinner guests. Co-hosts Valerie Bertinelli and Tyler Florence attend each dinner party and determine the ultimate winner."
Through this limited season two chef-testants have been front runners. Matthew and Jamika have a winning combination of on air presence and culinary prowess. Unless a huge mistake happens, I believe that one of these two will return to Food Network Star.
Matthew appeals to a younger viewer. Although his presentation’s improved, occasionally he conveys a superiority on camera. His recipes appeal to the budding foodie/want to be chef. However, his delivery could be a little softer.
Jamika is vivacious and warm. Her approach to cooking is simple yet incorporates board flavors. The Caribbean flavors blend with her bubbly personality. Overall, I think Jamika has a broader audience appeal.
