After last week’s arrest/kidnapping, Wednesday and Shadow are on the lam in American Gods episode 6. They go looking for help from another old frenemy of Wednesday’s. Corbin Bernsen (L.A. Law, Psych) plays Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and the forge.
Wednesday wants Vulcan to join his army of old gods for the inevitable (so he says) war. You’d think a Roman god would be all in for that. Because unlike their Greek counterparts, and like the empire that spawned them, they’re a militant group, each with a specific set of skills in battle.

But this old soldier is going to take some convincing. Does anyone understand the costs of war more than veterans?

There’s also this week’s coming to America story, which takes a look at our border with Mexico. Immigrants from Central and South America try to make the dangerous Rio Grande crossing, as they’ve done for years, looking for a better life. But tonight these travelers have some extra help. They’ve got a friend in Jesus.
