As much as I hate to be the bearer of bad news, I meant what I said up there. Not only are we only a week away from the two-hour season finale of season 6 on May 18, but when Scandal season 7 returns later this year, it’ll be the last season.

Of course, your immediate reaction may be, “BUT HOW WILL THEY WRAP ALL THE STORYLINES?” Traditionally, TV shows announce their impending final season at what feels like worst time possible. But Scandal‘s not one of those shows. Most of its storylines are (or will be) in a good place and there aren’t that many outstanding answers if you really think about it.

Moreover, Scandal centers around the presidency of Fitzgerald Grant. And guess what? His term is over. While I’m disappointed we won’t get eight years of Mellie, it’s still a good stopping point for the show.

"President Fitz considers his legacy. Meanwhile, the Gladiators question what’s next for their team; and Jake finally discovers the motivation behind Peus and the mystery woman’s reign of terror."

If you don’t know what this title is getting at, you must be sleeping on this show. Basically, we haven’t seen the last of those stupid boxes yet. I mean, it’s okay to be nervous. I am too. Which is why Scandal‘s so fun and we’ll be sad to see it go.
