Fargo S3Ep4 “The Narrow Escape Problem” Live Stream: Watch Online

Back in Minnesota, Gloria looks to make headway in her investigation. We have all the details you need on how to watch this week’s Fargo episode.

Last week, Fargo whisked viewers off to Los Angeles for an exploration into Gloria’s family history. It was the best episode of season 3 so far. Although the plot didn’t advance one inch, we got to spend more time with the Eden Valley police chief, who had previously taken a secondary role to the Stussy brothers. And who can resist an animated sci-fi vignette?

Hopefully, the show, like Gloria, will return from the sojourn re-energized. We still have a ways to go before case closed.

Take a look at the synopsis for tonight’s installment, titled “The Narrow Escape Problem”:

"Emmit and Sy try to figure out what they’ve gotten themselves into, Nikki and Ray track down some collateral, and Gloria learns more about Maurice."

A problem inherent in the structure of Fargo is the disparity between the audience’s knowledge and the characters’. We know who killed Ennis Stussy and why, but Gloria still has to figure that out. Season 1 struggled a bit to prolong its mystery, while season 2 dealt with it by piling on so many complications that we quickly forgot how the whole thing started. How will season 3 fare?

We’re heartened by this trailer, which hints at a meeting between Gloria and Ray. You can’t get a cast with actors like Carrie Coon and Ewan McGregor and not let them interact. Well, you can (remember that Alison Tolman and Billy Bob Thornton never shared a scene in season 1), but we would be annoyed.

The episode title refers to another arcane concept – this time biological. Simply put, the narrow escape problem is a formula that calculates the time a particle takes to get through the window in a compartment boundary. As the window shrinks, the time diverges or increases indefinitely. (At least that’s what I gathered from the Wikipedia page, which reads like a foreign language.)
