Iron Chef Gauntlet: Episode 3 Sweet and Savory Live Stream
Kitchen stadium is ready for the next battle in Iron Chef Gauntlet. The chefs will tackle sweet and savory challenges that will send one chef home.
With two chefs eliminated from Iron Chef Gauntlet, the competition is becoming fierce. Each chef wants the coveted position of Iron Chef champion, only one will ultimately battle three Iron Chefs in the gauntlet. This week the remaining chefs will face a sweet and savory challenge.
After last week’s nose to tail pork Chairman’s challenge, the chefs haven’t quite found their stride. In each cooking challenge, the chef need to highlight the secret ingredient. A well composed dish and a delicious dish is a given. These chefs must show the secret ingredient is the star of the plate.
The Food Network describes episode 3 as:
"An Iron Chef must be adaptable, so the Chairman’s Challenge offers up a combination of ingredients that will be bittersweet for one chef. All items are first-come, first-served and cannot be shared, so the competitors race to the altar to grab their most desired elements. Alton Brown sends the bottom chef to a sea creature-themed Secret Ingredient Challenge, along with the top competitor’s choice. Iron Chef Marc Forgione and Giada De Laurentiis judge the dishes and send one chef packing."
Based on this synopsis, the ladies might be at a disadvantage. Pushing and shoving to the table is often better suited to the guys. Hopefully the ladies can snag some of the coveted items.
As for the elimination challenge, I really hope Alton brings a crazy ingredient. The first two elimination challenges used lobster and bananas. As an Iron Chef fan, I was really hoping for some jackfruit, monkfish or maybe kudu. Hopefully, this week’s episode will bring sea urchin (please no sea bass).
