Is There A New Episode Of Riverdale On Tonight, April 20, On The CW?

Sadly, there is not a new episode of Riverdale tonight, but here’s everything you need to know to get caught up on all things having to do with Archie and the gang.

There isn’t going to be a new episode of Riverdale tonight, but let me catch you up.

The last we saw of Archie & Co., they were recovering from Jughead’s birthday party. They were also forgetting there is still an unresolved homicide to sort out. For as little as we moved the needle in terms of Jason Blossom’s murder, we took huge steps forward in terms of character development.

We got to see Jughead open up to Betty in a sweet and authentic way. And we also got a glimpse of Dark Betty lurking just below the surface. Let’s hope the writers can coax her out more often, because I like where this is headed.

Next week, when Riverdale returns, Betty goes head to head with her mother, Alice. It looks like Betty might be taking some cues from her edgier alter ego. Polly, on the other hand, seems completely irrelevant, and aside from being the baby receptacle, I don’t even see why they keep her around. She’s a real yawner.

As you can tell from the promo, Archie’s mother is back. That means we get to bask in the glory that is Molly Ringwald. Even though she’s trying to convince Archie to move away to Chicago, I can still get on board with her cameo. I’m having some mixed ’90s emotions about a love story between her and Luke Perry’s Fred, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.
