Victoria Season 1 Finale: Watch Online

Victoria’s first season comes to a close tonight, and here’s what you need to know to watch it all unfold, including a preview from PBS.

After a week off in order to avoid being crushed by yet another February awards show (thanks, Oscars), Victoria will return to PBS tonight. Of course, not every PBS station will show it at the appointed time. You may want to find your station’s schedule and double-check when and where they’ll show the finale. However, for those viewers who do have a scheduled appointment with Her Majesty tonight, read on!

Tonight’s episode will see the culmination of all of Victoria and Albert’s newlywed time in the bedroom: a royal baby will be born in “Young England.” In fact, the episode will also see Alex Jennings return in his role as Leopold, the couple’s uncle (remember, they were first cousins), and pay a visit to them. He’s also the King of Belgium, by the way.

PBS has posted a scene from the upcoming episode which basically belongs to Jennings, who discusses in character the death of his first wife, the Princess Charlotte. Had Charlotte survived her own encounter with childbirth, as the series has pointed out previously, Victoria wouldn’t have become queen.

It seems likely that most of the episode will focus more on the actual event. A large part of “Engine of Change” focused on the idea of the worst-case scenario, a regency. (Need a reminder of what went down? Look no further than the Culturess recap.) Of course, we fully expect some nervous pacing or nervousness in general from Albert while Victoria does the hard work here.

Date: Sunday, March 5

However, we do know that she survives. She practically has to! There’s a second season already in the works, and Diana Rigg will join the cast!

Stay tuned for a recap tonight.
