Season 10: Johnny & Rob & Melissa’s Lollipop

I’m not gonna lie here. After doing so many cycles back to back to back, Face Off began to wane badly in terms of the talent they were bringing in. Two times a year was burning through the talent too fast, and some of the weeks for this season were graded on a steep curve. Basically, Season 10 suffered in quality for it. (The irony was that this was the season where they got the biggest names ever, including Star Trek: The Next Generation star Jonathan Frakes.)

One of the very few weeks that I did not find myself grading the looks on a curve was the early round where the contestants were given toys and candy as inspiration. But the best look that came out of this Toy and Candy Challenge ironically may have been due to the sheer level of talent involved — two of the three who worked on it wound up competing in the finale. (Note also that we have gone back to Season 1 style close ups only of the looks. As the popularity of the show began to ebb, so to did the interest in putting up good pictures of the looks.)
