7. Supergirl

Like the three Marvel series, The CW has quite a few options available on Netflix, like Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. However, can we say no to Supergirl? No. No, we cannot. Technically speaking, this first season actually aired on CBS before making the move over to The CW for its second season, which will return in 2017 for its second half.

Kara Danvers, cousin to the man we know as Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El, tries to keep things low-key in National City. However, when things get tough, Supergirl gets going, cape, boots, skirt, and all. Melissa Benoist shines in the title role, but the supporting cast, which includes Calista Flockhart and Mehcad Brooks, helps make the show really great overall.

With a rating of TV-PG, it’s a wonderful series to share with kids and adults alike, should you have a plethora of either around. Who needs the Man of Steel to save the city? Not Supergirl.

Like How to Get Away with Murder, this commitment is a pretty large one, with 20 episodes of about 45 minutes each. However, that leaves you with quite some time to get through the first half of Season 2 before it returns in the spring.
