8. How to Get Away with Murder

How to Get Away with Murder is a Shondaland show from ABC, which might very well tell you everything you need to know: high drama, twists and turns, and did we mention drama? Anyways, How to Get Away with Murder is currently the shortest of the big three, which also includes Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy.

Murder stars Viola Davis as Annalise Keating, a defense attorney and a law professor who teaches a class nicknamed, well, “How to Get Away with Murder” (it’s really Criminal Law 101). Five students get the chance to intern at her law office, and, through a series of flash forwards, we learn that the students are all also involved in a murder, which they then must get away from. Shocking, right?

Obviously, Viola Davis owns practically every single scene she’s in, but other cast members easily hold their own. You’ll find yourself alternatively liking or really disliking pretty much each and every character, depending on what’s recently happened.

With such a large commitment – 2 seasons and 30 episodes — you might want to prepare yourself from some long nights and a lot of wondering about what’s going to happen next. This one isn’t for the faint of binge-watching heart.
