6. Lando Calrissian

Lando also already has a miniseries of his own in the world of comics, but he’s also Lando Calrissian. Had Han Solo not shown up a movie earlier, we probably would have fawned over Lando even more in the ensuing years. As it is, he’s still a great character, since he’s all smooth charm where Han is more awkward and way more sardonic. He also shows a capability for leadership and government both as the administrator of Cloud City and as a general in the Rebel Alliance.

If the casting of Donald Glover works out in the upcoming Han Solo spinoff, why not entice him to do a Lando movie of his own? Glover almost certainly wouldn’t mind the chance to headline a film, and if the script is right, it could definitely help keep the anthology series alive.

Alternatively, just give Han, Lando, and Chewie their own series of buddy caper movies. Again, with a good script — which is harder than it sounds — these three could keep a movie series alive without any problems. Think of them as the Ocean’s Eleven of the Star Wars set, and imagine the opportunity to see them get all dressed up to infiltrate some party or another to steal or smuggle something out.
