Lauren Daigle, Behold: A Christmas Collection
October 21, 2016

Lauren Daigle is a Christian music singer from the South- Lafayette, Louisiana to be exact. Her music showcases her Southern roots beautifully with her jazzy, soulful, sometimes-country, sometimes-poppy voice. The feel of her music is always a little melancholy, like it’s from a time long past.

If you want a warm, jazzy feeling for your Christmas playlist, definitely take a few tracks from Daigle’s first Christmas album. It’s filled with assorted horns, stand-up bass, hollow body guitars, and brushed drums that are classic in sound. Somehow, Daigle still manages to make it feel fresh rather than stale. She reminds me a lot of a Christian music version of Norah Jones, which is a high compliment in my book.

Behold includes one original song, “Light of the World”, redone especially for the Christmas album. The original “Light of the World” can be found on her album How Can It Be.
