Uterus Plushie

For: The reproductive justice warrior

Price: $18.00

I’m pretty sure that all women who have uteruses have complicated relationships with them. On the one hand, they torture us every month with the menstrual cycle. But on the other hand, the menstrual cycle is what makes it possible for us to give birth to other feminists, if we choose to.

But even women who don’t want to have children care about their uteruses. Because their uteruses are being attacked pretty much all the time. It’s what we fight for when we fight for reproductive rights. It’s what we keep safe when we fight against rape culture. There are a bunch of people out there who want to force us to do things with our uteruses that we don’t want to do. So it’s imperative that we protect them.

Thus, this uterus plushie! This is the adorable little organ we are fighting to protect. Whether your feminist friend loves her uterus because it gave her a baby or because she’s the boss of it, she’ll love to have this plush from I Heart Guts to remind her of the struggle and the joy.

There are so many instances in which a friend could use and love this little plushie. If she works for reproductive rights or in gynecology, she will love it. If she’s had a hard time with her uterus though, it could be a good gift for her as well. You definitely want to exercise sensitivity in these cases. But if she is trans or has had to have her uterus removed, think about if she would have a good laugh at the idea of a replacement one. If she suffers from endometriosis, she might like one to cuddle when she’s having a bad time with it. In any case, the cute uterus is a fun and cozy way to tell your friend you love her and her reproductive rights!

She’ll Love It If: She has a special attachment to her uterus through childbirth, endometriosis, PCOS, or similar experiences; she could use some support as she studies midwifery, gynecology or reproductive rights; even when she promises herself she won’t, she always ends up engaging with the protesters at Planned Parenthood.
