Jacob Palmer (Crazy, Stupid Love)

Jacob Palmer surprised people because we thought we had this movie figured out. Hot, suave dude who is a ladies man falls in love and ends up realizing that womanizing isn’t the way. Normal movie trope, right?  Wrong. Crazy, Stupid Love literally had one of the best cinematic twists of all time and it is a romantic comedy.

Jacob teaches Cal (Steve Carell) how to date again properly after his divorce from Emily (Julianne Moore). As he is ‘tutoring’ Cal, Jacob ends up falling for Hannah (played by Emma Stone). The most iconic scene in the movie is Jacob standing shirtless in front of Hannah and her telling him he looks like he is photoshopped.

But as the movie goes on, you start to really see how Hannah is changing Jacob. He starts to fall in love with her and goes from a man who just sleeps around to one who is completely in love with a woman. That is until Cal and Jacob realize who Hannah is.

Hannah is Cal and Emily’s daughter and Jacob ends up getting beaten up by Cal when he finds out the woman he’s been talking to Cal about sleeping with was, in fact, Cal’s daughter. It’s a beautiful movie though and fun since Jacob isn’t really your typical romantic lead!
