#3: “After Everything I’ve Done for You (That You Didn’t Ask For)”

Gypsy has “Rose’s Turn.” Wicked has “Defying Gravity.” And Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has THIS. Paula’s chance to let the world (read: Rebecca) know what she’s really worth, and that she won’t stand for being treating like less-than for one more second. In the season’s final episode, Paula discovers that Rebecca has ditched her Josh dream in favor of a Greg reality. And- as the song states- after everything she’s done for Rebecca, she’s NOT about to accept this sudden, potentially-questionable change of heart. And though- again, as the song states- Rebecca didn’t always explicitly ask for Paula’s help in every circumstance, she’s gladly accepted the rewards of Paula’s hard work at every turn. This is Paula’s chance to jump into the spotlight for once, be recognized as the powerhouse friend she’s been, and belt out a damn fine number that’ll ensure Rebecca (and we) never takes for granted how badass she is again.

Lyric highlight:

“You’re nothing without me and my creativity! I created you, you lived in my womb – I mean, figuratively!”
