Outlander Season 3: Sneak Peeks and Speculation

Jamie Fraser vs. Black Jack Randall- will one of them FINALLY fall at the hands of the other?

Part of the great appeal in Outlander the TV show is it’s incredible attention to detail. From intricate, time period-accurate costumes to gnarly makeup wounds, to the language and the music and the sets… Everything about the show puts you right in the action.

In this photo one of the best (and worst) rivalries in all of television get another go at each other. The set behind these two is breathtaking.

Tobias Menzies (left) as Jonathan ‘Black Jack’ Randall and Sam Heughan (right) as Jamie Fraser go at each other’s throats on Culloden Moor. This real life battle, which took place on April 16th, 1746, is a central event in both the Outlander books and TV show.

As many as 2,000 clansmen were killed on the moor that day. Today, stones marked for each Clan stand as a tribute to those who fought and gave their lives in the name of their king.

In the Outlander-verse, we only really got to see the battle through flashbacks and memories. In season 3, we are going to SEE the battle. One of the very first things we’ll experience is the actual battle, in all it’s gory detail, I’m sure.
