1. Blue Cloak with Red Leaves

I saved this one for last not because it is the best. It is my favorite. The dress is reminiscent of the gold number Claire wore in a previous post. Claire’s long neck makes a cloak look flawless. The navy blue color cloak color is dignified. The fabric had subtle red leaves, but they further accented the red by embroidering darker red leaves to the outer cover of the cloak hood and down the front. The red pulls together the purple skirt and the blue cloak. Anyone who knows basic color theory would know this technically should not work. This is why Terry Dresbach and her team are geniuses. They see colors that traditionally do not function together and question your fashion knowledge.

I believe what Terry Dresbach is doing on Outlander is a love letter of sorts. She is showing her adoration and respect of costume design but also her twenty-three-year love affair with Outlander. As fans, we all can relate to that.
