The Summer Olympics brings out the arm-chair gymnast in all of us, and this Summer Olympics is no exception.

From odd team finals scratches to best-in-the-world performances, the Rio Olympics Gymnastics competition did not disappoint. I know there probably aren’t a whole lot of you out there who follow gymnastics the other 3 years out of the Olympic cycle, but I do. So, let me tell you, this gymnastics meet was one for the record books. From Simone Biles, who is probably the best female gymnast and one of the best female athletes in the world, to the men’s US gymnastics team that again couldn’t quite keep up with their female counterparts, there were surprises and heartbreaks aplenty. It was also just a lot of fun to watch. There were flips, flops, face-plants, and fierce competitions.

To quote the 2006 gymnastics movie (starring Missy Peregrym and Jeff Bridges) “Stick It“, “it’s not called gym-nice-tics.”

I realize that gymnastics isn’t for everyone. The scoring system can be confusing, sometimes you’re not sure what you just watched. Was it good? Was it not? Are the judges on drugs for counting off tenths of a point for silly mistakes after the girl just flung her body from a springboard ten or more feet into the air? I get it. So, if you want a quick recap or if you missed the events, take a look at our top 10 favorite moments from Rio!
