6. Wizard Chess

At the start of Harry’s first Christmas at Hogwarts, we get introduced to the idea of Wizards’ Chess. While it seems normal and very much the same chess we all know and love, it is very clearly different and an overall more dangerous game.

But at Christmas was when we were introduced to the amazing game that Harry, Ron and Hermione had to beat to get to the Sorcerer’s Stone. Without us learning about it as Harry and Ron played while their friends left for the holiday, that ending scene wouldn’t have been as powerful.

The holidays really are about playing games with friends and family and just enjoying time together. For Ron and Harry, they only had one another that Christmas. So they did want they wanted to. They hung out together and they played chess.

It truly just showed us the magic of two friends spending Christmas together. Without it, we probably wouldn’t have loved the two of them as much as we do. They spent the holiday together and had fun and made us love Ron and Harry as friends. It was also nice to see Ron trying to make it a great holiday for Harry.
