Will Taylor Swift give us the original "Teardrops on My Guitar" on Debut TV?

Ahead of Taylor Swift TV, we have a very important question.

It's hard to believe that Taylor Swift released her debut album in 2006 and it's even harder to believe she was apart of the country music genre at one time.

That's why it's so exciting to see her going back and re-recording all of her old albums. Currently, she only has 2 albums left which are reputation and Taylor Swift, her self-titled debut. On the whole, her debut never gets much love.

For those who have been here since Taylor Swift dropped, I think we can all agree that the album is unfairly critcized. While Fearless and Speak Now get all the love, no one is talking about just how dynamic Taylor Swift was and just how edgy things were when she first came out.

Fans are already hoping for the return of the original line from "Picture to Burn" which was later edited for radio. Even so, that's not the only lyric that was changed when it came to putting Swift's song on the radio.

"Picture to Burn" isn't the only Taylor Swift song edited on her debut.

If you weren't around for the beginning of Taylor's debut era, then what a time to be alive. In true millennial fashion, I remember burning a CD and just putting "Tim McGraw" and "Teardrops on my Guitar" as the first four songs back-to-back. Is that a little wacky? Yes, but it was a different time.

Either way, the one thing I never hear anyone discuss is how Taylor Swift changed a lyric in "Teardrops in My Guitar." I feel like most of us know about the original "Picture to Burn" lyrics but let's break down what changed in Teardrops. The lyrics we hear now are "Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it's just so funny, But I can't even see anyone when he's with me."

Originally, the lyrics were "Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it's so damn funny, But I can't even see anyone when he's with me." While that might not seem like the most scandalous lyrics, it was something I've always thought about and wondered why she changed it. I think it sounds a lot better and is a lyric I hope we get when Taylor Swift decides to release Debut TV.

Between this and "Picture to Burn," I think we have a better chance of getting this than the original "Picture to Burn" lyrics. Frankly, I always thought the original PTB lyrics were awesome and completely absurd. Then again, I can see why record execs or radio people would want to make that change. It doesn't take away from just how funny the original lyrics are, though.

Given that we don't have a timeline of when Taylor Swift is going to release Debut TV, there is still plenty of time to wish on a wishing star for this. Until then, we still have Speak Now TV, Fearless TV, Red TV, and 1989 TV to hold us over.
