The filming of Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 started late this month in Ireland. The writers’ and actors’ strikes delayed production, but it was announced in November 2023 that filming would start in late April 2024. A premiere date isn't confirmed, but here is what we know about the upcoming season.

It is confirmed that Thandie Newton and Steve Buscemi will join the Wednesday cast in Season 2. Thandie Newton is known for her role in Westworld. She has also starred in films like Crash, Beloved, and The Pursuit of Happyness. Steve Buscemi is a highly respected actor who is known for his roles in Reservoir Dogs and Fargo. He also starred in shows like Boardwalk Empire and The Sopranos. Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar haven’t shared any information about the roles Newton and Buscemi will be playing.

You can expect the return of characters from season 1. The Wednesday cast at a TUDUM event hinted that there will be more Addams Family members joining the new season. It would be a fair guess that Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen in the first season, is one of those family members since Netflix has reported that they will be making a Wednesday spin-off series starring Uncle Fester. More information on the spin-off hasn't been shared.

Some plot points or stories will be expanded on in this upcoming season. Wednesday’s relationship with her mother Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, will be getting more screen time.  Tyler Galpin, the character who was revealed to be the monster Hyde, will be returning in season 2. This is interesting news since he was locked up the last time we saw him. Jenna Ortega, star and now an executive producer of the series, at the TUDUM event mentioned that this season will have more horror.

There is still so much we don't know about the series. Let's try to wait patiently for season 2!
