What is next for the gang at Nevermore? Well, Netflix is letting viewers find out by renewing Wednesday for a second season.

Tim Burton has brought his knowledge of disturbing storytelling to The Addams Family spinoff, where Wednesday Addams is given a more significant focus in the story, as is her growing gang of outcast friends.

The show quickly dominated Netflix’s streaming numbers. It captivated audiences, from Jenna Ortega’s fantastic performance as the title character to the friendships and mysteries divulged within the first season’s eight-episode run.

Season One showed Wednesday experiencing various relationships as she sought to uncover the mystery behind the Hyde. In addition, the Netflix series developed Nevermore as a school while visiting Jericho often enough to flesh out the boarding school’s surrounding town.

But, while Wednesday had integral relationships with Tyler and Xavier, the show’s breakout friendship stems from the one she shares with her roommate, Enid. Wednesday and Enid’s dynamic grows throughout the first season as the duo’s unlikely bond becomes integral to them and the plot.

The series’ supernatural elements fill out the world’s scope, and everyone has something about them that makes them different from the average mortal population or even their own families.

While the rest of the Addams Family do not play a massive role in the first season, there is undoubtedly space for them to appear more often in season two, especially given how crucial they were to understand the past.

The Addams Family was always known for portraying a different outlook on a family dynamic, and Wednesday only adds to that legacy. Always supportive of each other but with vastly different interests and priorities, Wednesday shows those hints through the brief familial moments as well as when showing Wednesday is in a conversation with nearly every other character.

Even the iconic breakout dance caused an outbreak of re-creation videos. With how successful season one turned out to be, it will be exciting to see what season two has in store.
