PlayStation Essential tier members have access to three new games starting on Tuesday, September 3rd. Honestly, with how this year has gone so far for the subscription service, this is a slight step up, but still nothing groundbreaking. You do, however, get a brand new game on day one!

Here are your three free games for the month of September:

  • Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions
  • MLB The Show 24
  • Little Nightmares 2

First up is Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, which is actually a day-one release for the game, which is pretty cool. It's also the first quidditch-based game since 2003. This is great if you were bummed that Hogwarts Legacy didn't have quidditch included.

You can play as any of the four positions (chaser, seeker, keeper, beater) that each have their own playstyle with plenty of arenas and different maps to play on. You also can choose to play as any of the iconic Harry Potter characters or create your own. There's also online co-op as well.

Next up is your standard sports game for the month, MLB The Show 24. This builds on what the prior year's version gave fans and gives players a deeper, richer look at baseball's history. There's also season 2 of the Negro Leagues and that also includes women, which is a huge thing, too. Sony San Diego also gives you a Custom Game Entry feature in Franchise mode that makes up for the less-than-stellar Storyline mode. But honestly, if you enjoy baseball sims, you'll still enjoy this one.

Last up is Little Nightmares 2, just in time to get you in the mood for spooky Halloween season. If you played the first game, welcome back! You play as Mono with an AI version of Six as your companion. Mono is able to wield weapons during certain levels and Six is a nice addition for the higher octane levels, blazing ahead to show you where to hide or where to go when things get a little too scary and you might get distracted.

It's a short game, too, clocking in at just under four hours, but it's creepy enough that it'll stick with you long after the credits roll.

Also, as an added bonus, if you're a subscriber to the Extra tier, you'll have access to The Plucky Squire when it releases on September 17.
