Gamescom 2024 has come and gone, and video game fans are left in its wake trying to figure out what to focus on first. There were so many announcements last week that it's hard to keep track of everything that happened.

So we've pulled together our 7 favorite announcements that happened at Gamescom 2024, in no particular order!

(Spoiler alert: still no Hollow Knight: Silksong and no The Haunted Chocolatier for my Stardew nerds.)

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle official release date

We've known Indiana Jones and the Great Circle would be out sometime in 2024, and we got confirmation that it'll be out in time for the holiday season: December 9th!

We also got notice that it will release for PlayStation 5 sometime in spring of 2025, even though Phil Spencer said it wouldn't be coming to PS5 anytime soon.

This looks so good. Troy Baker's giving us his best Harrison Ford and even just in his voiceover of this announcement trailer, you can tell he's very passionate about this role. I mean, who wouldn't be if they got to play Indiana Jones?!

Borderlands 4 announcement

This one honestly isn't that surprising, especially since we just mentioned it in one of our latest weekly updates. And the trailer didn't even really show anything. It's just confirmation that more Borderlands is on the horizon.

Amazon Prime Video's Secret Levels trailer

December 10 is the premiere of Amazon Prime's Secret Levels, an adult animated series based on some of our favorite video games. Gaming TV shows have been popping off lately, and the teaser trailer for season one looks amazing.

The 15 episodes will include stories from Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, various PlayStation Studios games, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament and Warhammer 40,000.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire

If you wanted Cuphead to actually be an FPS, boy did Gamescom have a game for you. There was a teaser for this released about nine months ago (simply titled MOUSE), but this looks much more polished.

Again, it's still a work in progress and everything can still change, but the vibes (and music) are pitch-perfect. We can't wait to see more and to find out when it'll actually be released!

Squirrel with a Gun official launch trailer & release date

We've been dying for more news on Squirrel with a Gun, and Gamescom didn't disappoint. It's out August 29! This is a sandbox shooter mixed with a puzzle platformer and it looks both adorable and hilarious. You can preorder it now on Steam for 10% off, so only $17.99.

Monster Hunter Wilds

We got another look at the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds, still set for release in 2025. Also the line to play a demo of it was apparently ten hours long.

What's in this new look? New monsters, a new locale, a look at gameplay, an apex predator, and some brand-new NPCs. If you're a fan of the series, this sixth game in the franchise looks like it's shaping up to be just as good as its predecessors.

Path of Exile 2's early access date

If you wanted to lose a lot of hours to an upcoming action RPG, then does Grinding Gear Games have an early access release date for you... Path of Exile 2 is coming to early access on November 15th. We can't wait to be overwhelmed by the skill trees and miss so much of the game even 100 hours in!

Even by video game movie standards, Borderlands is an all-time disaster. Even by video game movie standards, Borderlands is an all-time disaster. dark. Next
