Virtuous Con returns with amazing guests, panels, and more

Since its inception in 2020, Virtuous Con has felt like something new and honestly, it has drawn some big names in just 4 short years.

With the tagline being "The Ultimate Sci-Fi x Comic Culture Experience," this is an online convention focusing on BIPOC creators. If that isn't enough to make you want to check it out, then I really don't know what to tell you.

The most unique thing is that Virtuous Con is done entirely online. While you do have to purchase tickets, it's an all-inclusive ticket. As shared via the press release: "Tickets for Virtuous Con are $35. In addition to our event tickets, our exclusive Virtuous Con VIP Mystery Boxes are BACK!, created in partnership with Otaku Noir, a quarterly mystery box filled with comics, apparel & other exclusive collectibles celebrating Black nerd culture. All items are made by creators of color. Each Mystery Box includes One All Access Pass for the weekend’s panels and activities, Two comics, Two books, One Virtuous Con t-shirt, 1 Sticker, one Key chain, and one The Future Is Ours Notepad. Pricing for the mystery boxes is $75."

This year's event will take place from February 23rd until February 25th with the con starting at 7:00 pm EST and running until 9 pm. From there, there will be an afterparty and then on Saturday and Sunday, panels will be held from 11 am to 6 pm. In addition, you can also explore the Interactive Vendor Floor Show from 12:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

The theme for this year's con is "The Future Is Ours" and there are some amazing guests. The two headliners for this round are N.K. Jemisin who is known for her Broken Earth trilogy and Mikki Kendall, author of Hood Feminism. Some other guests include Rodney Barnes, Vashti Harrison, and Tananarive Due.

While I don't want to give too much away with the panels, there will be experts in every single field, talking about everything from video games, books, and comics to much more. If you're a sci-fi lover or enjoy any of the creators above, then why not spend your weekend, having fun at Virtuous Con?

If that wasn't enough to tempt you, then you have to check out the massive guest list full of creators of all types. Plus the theme for the year and the art they chose is so stunning. If I didn't already have plans, I'd be parked behind my computer, enjoying the panels and taking notes for a future post.
