Video game news this week is all over the map, from new releases to surprising cancellations to even more Switch 2 rumors!

Concord shutting down after 2 weeks

Okay, let's just rip the band-aid off first and start with the bad news: Concord is shutting down just two weeks after its release. If you don't know, Concord is a first-person PVP shooter game. It's not a free-to-play, is online only, and costs $40.

Well, it released to not great reviews and never managed to reach a thousand concurrent players on Steam at any given time. So Sony and Firewalk Studios (the developers) announced this week that it would be shutting down and giving refunds to anyone who purchased the game.

The Haunted Chocolatier update

We missed this last week in our round-up, but still needed to cover it. ConcernedApe, the man behind Stardew Valley, came out in a long tweet to say that he's still working on bringing the 1.6 update to consoles (it's only on PC right now).

He also went on to say that he hasn't touched The Haunted Chocolatier since he started working on the 1.6 update (and that update is pretty substantial, almost as big as 1.5). You can check out his tweet below:

Honestly, I don't blame him for dragging his feet on the successor to Stardew, as Stardew seems to have spiraled into its own realm. He can take as long as he needs to bring us his next game. We'll wait patiently.

Astro Bot releases on September 6

If you didn't play Astro's Playroom on the PlayStation 5, you honestly missed out. It showed off the haptics of the new controllers, yes, but it was such a cute and incredibly fun game.

And it looks like the first full-length, non-VR video game for Astro Bot is going over just as well. It currently sits at a 94 on Metacritic and looks like an old-school platformer that has fun.

The Zelda timeline

We all know it's hard enough trying to make sense of the Legend of Zelda timeline. And things just got even wackier when @Wario64 tweeted out a photo from Nintendo Live in Sydney showing that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are just... separate from the rest of the games. Check it out below.

More Nintendo Switch 2 rumors

Between the Switch 2 and the PS5 Pro, there's no shortage of rumors. But it seems to have ramped up this week around the Switch 2. There are rumors that the announcement is coming sometime this month and, to no one's surprise, should be backwards compatible with current Switch titles.
