Still waiting for Debut TV? Try this Megan Moroney playlist!
Everyone is talking about how Taylor Swift will re-record her debut album last but if you're sick of waiting, then Megan Moroney is here now.
While we usually don't like to compare artists like this, I couldn't help but feel such love for Megan Moroney after hearing her. Maybe it's her voice, her style or her presence, but I couldn't help but feel drawn to her.
As someone who is a country music fan and admittedly listened to Taylor Swift's debut over and over again, I'm always looking for something similar. In a way though, Megan Moroney's songs feel like a more mature version of Swift's early releases and feel like a path we could have seen.
Either way, I've been listening to Megan Moroney for months now and I think it's finally time to curate a playlist for those wanting something more.
Don't skip this amazing Megan Moroney playlist.
1. "Tennessee Orange"
I'm starting with the first song I heard of Megan Moroney's and it's still one that holds a special place in my heart. If there's one thing to know about Megan Moroney, it's that she's a Georgia girl through and through. That's why this song felt like something special and different as it's about her falling for a Tennessee guy.
While it might not seem like a big deal, it is to her and her family. This song does take a somewhat serious tone at times, but it's incredibly sweet. Considering that this is the first song most people heard from her, this is a great place to start.
2. "Hair Salon"
Moving onto a more somber tune, I've been listening to "Hair Salon" on repeat since I heard it months ago. This song feels like such a relatable one as it's about going to get your hair done ad hearing all kinds of gossip. This time though, she hears that the guy she likes or wants is planning to get married to someone else.
I just adore how Megan's voice sounds on this one as it's clear she put a lot of emotion into this song and the lyrics are just dynamic. If you're from a small-town or are in a situationship, then I think you'll really relate to this one.
3. "I'm Not Pretty"
This post is truly turning into a love letter to Megan Moroney and her songs, but I can't help it. I don't even remember how I found out about her, but I just adore her. This song in particular feels like an incredibly fun one as it's another super relatable one.
This is all about Megan's ex's new girlfriend being obsessed with her and trying to say that Megan's not pretty which isn't true. Either way, it's a incredibly fun and the perfect thing to jam out to while getting ready for your next girl's night out. It's also a great one to listen to if you're driving and want to feel the wind in your hair.
4. "Georgia Girl"
As previously mentioned, Megan Moroney is from Georgia and proud of it. That's why I had to feature another song about her being from Georgia and proud of it. While this song is about Georgia, it's also about her getting away from someone toxic. Once you listen to this one, you'll realize how it connects but this is an incredibly fun one so it had to make the cut.
5. "What Are You Listening To?"
Before anyone comes for me, this is a cover Megan Moroney did of a Chris Stapleton song so it's not her original song. Regardless, her voice just sounds so perfect that I had to feature it. Plus it's one I've been listening to over and over again. It's just so freaking good and a song I would have never expected her to cover but it's perfection.
Whether you've listened to the original song or not, there is no way you won't want to listen to "What Are You Listening To?" over and over again.
6. "No Caller ID"
Rounding out the list is Megan Moroney's recent release and that's "No Caller ID." While she's since released an acoustic version, I wanted to include the original. I'm sure you're sensing a theme here but Megan isn't afraid to talk about her personal life and call out some toxic people in her music.
In particular, this is about getting a drunk call from an ex after doing better. All in all, it's another super relatable song and one I know a lot of people would love. Since it's a recent release though, it ended up at the bottom of my list. However, it's another one I've been listening to repeatedly so if you haven't tried out Megan Moroney, now is the time.
What do you think of this Megan Moroney playlist? Will you be giving her a try?
