Preview of NYC's Only Murders in the Building Escape Room

This week's premiere season four of Hulu's whodunnit comedy Only Murders in the Building is the inspiration for New York's first-ever Only Murders in the Building Escape Game.

Easter Eggs, cameras monitoring players' every move, puzzles to solve, hidden storage, oh my! New York's first Only Murders in the Building Escape Room is opening on August 30th and it returns to the same Los Angeles location in the next coming weekend. Here is a glimpse of New York's first opened Only Murders in the Building Escape Room.

 You arrive outside to find a glass-windowed building in Midtown Manhattan where a promotional horizontal banner of the official Only Murders in the Building Escape Room Game stands. Walking down the staircase, your eyes dart to the circular green and goldfish yellow trim poster that reads ''Only Murders in the Building Escape Room'' tapered on the black heavy metal edges door.

Inside a tight-squeezed square room, it is easy to be swayed by the game production design as players’ eyes are darted to the photo gallery of vignettes of the characters from the show on the emerald color wallpaper. The game is limited to eight players, with surveillance cameras monitoring everything, and a timer countdown would be set for an hour to solve the mystery.

 The first room mentioned has character vignettes where five to eight individuals will find clues to unlock the next phase of the game. Next door once a player figures out the code to open, they will be transported into Charles Savage's luxurious apartment from Hulu's whodunnit comedy Only Murders in the Building. 

 When entering Charles' bedroom, players will spot props from the series designed for the game such as the gut milk connection to an already played Scrabble game with words spelled out referencing the season 4 storyline, the murder board spread out that charts out the new season's premise. 

  Players will be charmed by the fully furnished fictional version of the Upper West Side apartment complex, The Arconia is also known in New York as The Belnord. The game is designated to align with season 4, and each individual will either pair up into a group or one person will work alone to find the missing film reel.

The streaming platform, Hulu and The Escape Game will transport New York individuals into the world of the true-crime podcast trio, Charles, Oliver, Mabel, and the rest of the characters on August 30 and the coming months for only a limited time.
