Eminem drops heartfelt ‘Temporary’ music video featuring Hailie Jade (Here's everything we know)

So, get the Kleenex handy – Eminem is about to knock us off our feet again! The rapper has his heart on his sleeve and his new track "Temporary" is no different so it’s safe to say that the fans are ready to cry on October 3rd with the official music video release.

It was only on October 2nd that Eminem decided to upload a picture of his daughter Hailie Jade during her childhood on Instagram. The photo was originally captured on the show stage of The Eminem Show, and as a hand-made card by Hailie. Along with the image, the post included a poignant quote from the song: Those were the words I treated myself with in the morning, as well as the hashtag they added at the end: #Temporary

As if that wasn’t enough to invoke some heated feels, Eminem also debuted a trailer for the music video, which includes such novelties as Polaroid photos of Eminem’s and Hailie’s reunion over the years. In the caption for the post, Em riled up his fans by saying, “The tears are temporary,” while announcing that the videos for “Temporary” would be out on October 3rd at 1 PM ET.

An Emotional Tribute

The song "Temporary" comes from Eminem’s latest album The Death of Slim Shady and the track gives a reflective look at how he lost time due to his substance abuse. Eminem who recently marked 16 years of sobriety recently sings about the hours and days that were lost to drugs and alcohol on this song.

To those fans who have been following Eminem, “Temporary” is as if the rapper has continued with his tradition of dedicating songs to his daughter like Hailie's song and Mocking Bird. These tracks unveil aspects of the rapper’s personality absent from many of his aggressive and intensely fast raps: vulnerability. As expected with “Temporary,” it seems that fans are going to be treated to that raw and sentimental side of Slim Shady once again.

Hailie's Heartfelt Response

Hailie Jade, now 28, discussed the record and how the songs affected her in a recent episode of Just a Little Shady podcast. She explained how much she was touched when coming up with both “Temporary” and “Somebody Save Me”. “I audibly sobbed… I believe that for both these songs, though more for Temporary,” she said. But when it came to the harsh times, Hailie said that her parents made sure their child was protected from their problems during her childhood. “But now as an adult, it’s so scary to think about, and I think that’s why I get emotional…” Every time you lose an addict or a dear one, my heartfelt sympathy goes to you.”

She also said that as she grows older it becomes very difficult for her to listen to any of the songs of her father dedicated to her because those songs are parts of their painful lives.
