Celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day with Disney's recipe
National Grilled Cheese Day is celebrated on April 12th but most of us can't magically teleport to Disney's Hollywood Studios and visit Woody's Lunchbox.
While the eatery is a favorite among Disney fans, some of us are located in other areas or don't have the funds to plan a Disney trip. Thankfully, Disney ecided to offer an olive branch to all of us and shared its iconic recipe.
The recipe was originally shared in 2020 amidst the beginning of the pandemic but it's still on Disney's Blog. With that said, I knew I had to feature it on Culturess for all of my fellow Disney foodies.
Thankfully, this Grilled Cheese Sandwich from Woody's Lunchbox doesn't take much prep and will make a more elevated and tasty meal you'll be adding to your rotation.

Let's begin with what you need for this recipe as it comes in parts. First is the cream cheese spread and for that, you'll need cream cheese, shredded Double Gloucester or cheddar cheese, heavy cream, and coarse salt. You can find the exact measurement in the recipe but wanted to share what you'll need for each component first.
Next is the garlic spread you'll be making which is mayonnaise, minced garlic, and coarse salt. Then for the sandwich, you'll need artisan bread, cheddar cheese slices, and provolone cheese slices. If you have all of that, you're golden. All you have to do is make your two spreads, assemble your sandwich and you're good to go.
For the cream cheese spread, you add everything to a food processor, blend until smooth and you're done. Then for the garlic spread, you'll mix it together in a bowl until well-blended. At that point, you're ready to start cooking as you add cheddar to half the pieces and provolone to the other half. Then add your cream cheese spread to your provolone slices before making a sandwich with the cheddar side.
Before putting in a heated pan, brush both sides with your garlic spread and there you have it. You have a Woody's Lunchbox staple at home for cheap and you can pair it with your favorite side. As a soup girlie, I can confidently say that I'm going with tomato soup but you could pair it with fries, a salad, or even, some fruit.
All in all, there are plenty of different ways to celebrate National Grilled Cheese Day but Disney is a hard one to beat.
