Molly Wells will be back soon enough as Apple TV+ has renewed Loot for a third season. Maya Rudolph's performance worked to keep season two afloat in a comically uneven season that, while more focused, struggled in some areas to land the joke. However, will the third time be the charm for Molly and Arthur's growing romance?

Molly and Arthur's unlikely connection was one of the original sparks of the first season, but they have been unable to get on the same page about a relationship. For one thing, Molly is Arthur's boss, which makes things complicated. However, the season two cliffhanger that has their relationship once again hit a dead end suggests that if season three goes down that path for Arthur and Molly, it may take the entire installment of episodes to get there.

Season three has the opportunity to continue its comical approach, but offer a more in-depth look into these characters. Season two offered the chance to step into more personal territory for the ensemble cast, and season three can continue that trend, offering more layered characters which would offer a larger foundation to the show's jokes and comical storylines.

Some of the best aspects of a comedy have shown that when the audience understands the developed or established dynamics of characters enough, the circumstances alone offer the comedy without trying so hard to set up the joke. As Loot heads into its third season, the series has the chance to spend more time devoted to portraying the chemistry of the ensemble characters and exploring relationship dynamics in addition to Molly's growing arc as someone trying to give away all of her money.

Maya Rudolph is a blast to watch in a leading role, and her charisma is more than enough of a reason to check out Loot from the beginning to be prepared for the upcoming third season. With only ten episodes in seasons one and two, this is an easy weekend binge-worthy comedy.
