All That We Are Together is a stunning conclusion from Alice Kellen
In 2023, Sourcebooks Casablanca released the first book in the Let It Be duology. If you read All That We Never Were, you’ve been waiting for All That We Are Together.
The first book followed the relationship of Axel and Leah. Axel is Leah’s brother’s best friend and Leah is staying with him while her brother Oliver takes a job in a different city. All That We Never Were is such an angsty yet wildly entertaining story.
Getting prepped to read All That We Are Together, I was holding my breath as I had no idea how the book was going to be and if it would be just as entertaining as the previous installment.
Before getting into my thoughts, I wanted to thank Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending me a physical ARC as I ended up devouring this in two sittings.
All That We Are Together is an amazing conclusion.
This is one of those series where you have to read the books in order because it follows the same couple and continues to plot. If you haven’t read All That We Never Were, you will be lost so make sure you read the first book.
With that disclaimer out of the way, I don’t want to get too in-depth because if you haven’t read the first book, you’ll get spoiled. However, I don’t know if it’s because this work is translated but it is so easy to fall into. Maybe it’s just the way that Alice Kellen writes, but All That We Are Together is just so fast-paced and you’ll be done before you know it.
If you recall the events of the previous book, then you’ll remember that things didn’t end on the best terms for Axel and Leah. To put it simply, it was all a mess. Regardless, this book did an excellent job of painting such a vivid picture of how these characters changed, grew, and made the best choices for themselves.
Ultimately, this book is about the relationship between Axel and Leah. Both of the books do an excellent job of showcasing their relationship and making you root for them. While you might not agree with all of their choices, that’s what makes the book realistic and it makes these characters feel like they jump off the page.
I think that if you’re looking for a duology to start the year off with or want an epic love story to sink your teeth into, then try out the Let It Be duology by Alice Kellen. You’ll truly get swept away in these characters, their families, and the unlikely romance that develops. Plus if you’re looking to squeeze in more translated works in 2024, then these two books are so entertaining and fast-paced that you won’t even realize that it’s been translated.
All That We Are Together by Alice Kellen is out now where books are sold.
