New Maino is coming to In The Black Network
In The Black Network is introducing its latest comedy series, New Maino. The series was created by and stars the rapper Jermaine "Maino" Coleman. New Maino will also include various guest appearances.
In The Black Network, a streaming service that spotlights Black voices, is a host to various scripted shows. Inside The Black Network also features programs such as The Wild, Love By Chance, and Sports Woman. New Maino will follow the events of Jermaine "Maino" Coleman's daily life as a rapper living in Brooklyn.
In an interview with VLAD TV, Jermaine "Maino" Coleman described New Maino as being inspired by the popular improvised sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm, led by Larry David. Curb Your Enthusiasm ran for twelve seasons, premiering in 2000 and concluding in 2024. Larry David, playing a fictional version of himself surrounded by improvised jokes from the supporting cast, allowed the series critical acclaim.
New Maino's comedy style, encouraged by Curb Your Enthusiasm, allows audiences to potentially feel a connection to the series if they were already familiar with the HBO hit show.
The trailer for New Maino suggests that things are about to get not so easy for the show's title character, including how he wakes up one day to realize he has allowed a woman he barely knows and does not remember to live in his house. If that is just what the trailer suggests, how many more crazy and exciting things can happen in the following episodes?
Jermaine "Maino" Coleman has a history with a few different films, including a soundtrack writing credit on 2016's animated film Sing for the song "Million Bucks."
Throughout his music background, he has had a successful career with tracks that have charted on Billboard.
Catch the series premiere of New Maino on In The Black Network on Tuesday, October 15th at 12:00 AM ET.
